TOTALLY GORJUSS - CHALLENGE 176 - SOMETHING BORROWED

Hello to You All

How are you keeping?  Just how cold is it - brrrrr - come on sunshine it's time for you to make an appearance - pretty please ;o)

"Hello" to my new follower - Christine Collins - thank you Christine for choosing to follow me, I am very flattered and really appreciate it.

It's Saturday again and its challenge time over at Totally Gorjuss and this weeks challenge is "Something Borrowed" and our generous sponsor is the one and only Ribbon Girl.

So, if you want to be in with a chance to win £10 to spend in the on-line store then get your entries in over at Totally Gorjuss and as always don't forget to check out what the lovely DT ladies have made for your inspiration.

Here is my little creation for the challenge:

Now, I can see some of you looking at it and thinking "what's borrowed about that" ;o) well, the story goes I saw someone making something similar to hold chocolates in but the card was sideways on if you know what I mean - or maybe not - heh heh and I wanted to create something to enter the Cardmaking & Papercraft "Cardmaker of the Year" competition back in 2010 and this is what I came up with for the Lili of the Valley section (apologies for the pictures, but I did take these three years ago).

So you see, the idea was "borrowed" ;o)  a little tenuous I know, but I'm sticking with it.

Wow, so much waffle - sorry.  The recipe for the little tissue pack holder thingy (can't think of a name for it!), is:

Stamp:  Lili of the Valley - Get Well Bunny (I so love this little bunny)
Digi Papers:  Pink Petticoat - Little Gingham and Doodle Dots
Flowers:  Wild Orchid Crafts

The image was coloured with Copics:

Bunny:  C3 C2 C1 C0 C00 / R20 (feet and nose)
Grapes:  V09 V17 V25
Medicine Bottle:  YR08 YR04 YR02

I used V01 and the Blender Pen to outline the image

Here is a picture of what the back looked like:

And there you have it.

I hope you all have a good weekend.

Thanks for stopping by.

Totally Gorjuss - Challenge 117 - A Sketch

Phew another weekend already!  Where does the time just go too?

I hope everyone is good and I would like to welcome my new followers - "Hello" - I am very flattered that you have chosen to follow me so "Thank You".

Let's gets straight on to this week's challenge at Totally Gorjuss which is a sketch and this week's sponsor is the most fabulous Joanna Sheen.  I do love shopping at Joanna's on line shop as her prices are really competitive and there is no P&P - win, win is what I say!

Here is the sketch that we would like to you follow:

Yup, it's as simple as that.  You can alter the sketch slightly by using a mirror image or even turning it upside-down, as long as we can see that the original sketch is in there then you are in with a chance to win those vouchers.

If your stuck and need some inspiration then nip across to the Totally Gorjuss Challenge Blog and feast your eyes on the amazing creations our lovely DT ladies have made for you.

Here is the card that I made:

What do you think?  How pretty is she - just bloomin pretty I say.

The recipe for the card is:

Digi Stamp:  Saturated Canary "Nevaeh" by Krista Smith
Digi Papers:  Designer Digitals "Gingerbread Runaway"
Lace & Seam Binding:  From My Own Stash
Pearls & Pearl Button:  The Hobby House

Image Coloured with Copics:

Skin:  E11 E00 E000 R20 R30
Hair:  E37 E35 E34 E31
Dress & Shoes:  B00 B000 B0000
Tights & Frilly Petticoat:  E42 E41 E40
Outline & Shading:  W5 W3 W1 W0 W00

Everything has been edged with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink

For the eagle-eyed ones amongst you - you will have seen that I have been brave enough to have my first go with my new sewing machine!  I was an absolute wreck when I had to put my coloured image under the needle I can tell ya - (note to self stitch first, stamp and colour second!) LOL.  I have to say though I really do love the effect the stitching creates; I will have to be more daring and try a different stitch type.

Just to finish then - before I bore you all to sleep - here is the inside of the card:

I never realised how bad I am at getting my pictures to look like the real card - in real life the ribbon and lace is so much lighter than this.  If anyone can give me any tips on how to get the colours to look like your cards I would so, so appreciate it.

Okie dokie, that's it from me for now.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend and stay warm!

Totally Gorjuss - Challenge 98 - Nothing Square About Me & Some News

Hi Everyone

Saturday again - already - another week has flown by - wow!

I've been a busy bee this week, so busy I haven't even unpacked all the things I bought from the GNPE show!  Can you believe it!  Just want to say a quick "Hello" to Lisa-Jane who kindly offered to meet me at the GNPE for a coffee with some of her blogging friends and they all made me feel very welcome - thanks girls!

On to my news ..... Net at the Totally Gorjuss Challenge Blog has asked if I would like to become a fully fledged Gorjussette - Whoop Whoop - How could I say no.  Thanks Net it really means a lot to me.

So straight on to this weeks challenge which is sponsored by Simon Says Stamp - Northing Square About Me.  Make sure you get yourself over to the Totally Gorjuss challenge blog and check out the absolutely wonderful creations the ladies have made this week.

This was a toughie one for me as you will have already seen from my cards everything is square about me - heh heh.  I've always loved different shaped cards, particularly those nice easel ones but have always been a bit nervous about making one, so if ever there was a push to do one this was it.

So, what do you think?  I was pretty chuffed with how it turned out and was surprised at how incredibly easy it was to make - I've been such a coward lol!  Apologies for the picture - how difficult is it to get a good picture of an easel card!  Hopefully you will appreciate what it looks like stood up straight rather than at an angle.

The recipe for the card is as follows:

Die:  Go Kreate XL Frames Frilly #5
Stamp:  Lili of the Valley "Rose Posey"
Papers:  Nitwit "Promises"
Coloured Card:  Crafter's Companion "Core'dinations"
Flowers & Seam Binding:  Wild Orchid Crafts
Charm & Pearls:  The Hobby House

I coloured the image with Copics as follows:

Skin:  E11 E00 E000 R20 R30
Hair:  E37 E35 E34
Top:  V17 V15 V12
Skirt:  V01 V000 V0000
Shoes:  E29 E27 E25
Socks & Bouquet Wrapping:  E42 E41 E40 B00 B000 B0000
Flowers:  V17 V15 V12 B00 B000 B0000 YG67 YG63
Shading:  W5 W3 W1
Outline:  W1 W0 W00

Everything was edged with "Dusty Concord" Distress Ink and the seam binding was also coloured with it to tone in with the card.  I have to confess I'm not a purple person and I fear I may have over-dosed on it a little too much on this card :os - what do you think?

Right that's it from me - happy crafting and have a great weekend.

Take it easy.

I will be posting my 100 + Followers candy over the next couple of weeks or so - all I can tell ya at the mo is that it is going to come from The Hobby House so please keep checking in every now and again 'cos I wouldn't want you to miss out.  For those fans of The Hobby House - Jill is currently updating her web with a new look and loads and loads of fabby new stuff for us to completely indulge ourselves in.

Anyway that is just far too much waffle from me.

Our challenge this week at Totally Gorjuss is Spots and Stripes and our most generous sponsor is the one and only Lili of the Valley.  To be in with a chance to win a voucher to spend in their shop we want to see all your creations based on a spots and stripes theme.  As always, check out the wonderful work the DT ladies have created for you at Totally Gorjuss - they are such a talented bunch that is for sure.

Here is my card:

I know I keep saying it but one day I WILL master Photoshop and get my pictures better than this - it looks so bright but I promise you it is much more muted in real life.

The recipe for the card is:

Stamp:  Lili of the Valley "Summer Garden Angel"
Digi Papers:  Basic Grey "Hello Luscious"

The Image has been coloured with Copics:

Skin:  E21 E00 E000 R20 R30
Hair:  E49 E47 E44 E42
Dress:  RV000 RV00 R85
Flowers:  RV29 RV25 RV23 Y17
Grass, Stems & Leaves:  G85 G82 G46 G40 G24

I have edged everything with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and used a Magnolia Doohickey "Bon Voyage" die with some little paper roses in the middle from Wild Orchid Crafts

I also broke out the Glamour Dust for the angels wings and used some Stardust Stickles on the paper flowers.

Here is the inside of the card where I have followed the sketch through:

And that's it as they say.  I'm going to enter this card into the Lili's Little Fairies Challenge where this week there is a fab sketch to follow from Jacque and also in Lili of the Valley's National Craft Month Challenge.

Thank you for all your lovely comments they are as always very much cherished.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hello Everyone

I hope you are all getting to see this post as I have scheduled it as I am currently away in London (Excel) working - yuk!

The challenge this week over at Totally Gorjuss is lace and our lovely sponsor this week is Heather's Hobbie Haven.  So to be in with a chance to win a voucher to spend in their store we would like to see all your creations centred around a lace theme and don't forget to go and see what the awesome DT ladies have created - wonderful, as always.

Here is the card that I made:

This is just one piece of paper from the fantastic Nitwit collections - this kit is just full of one of my favourite colour combos - pink and brown - lovely.

I'm also becoming a bit of a Saturated Canary collector too - Krista's images are just unbelievably awesome and easy to colour too.

That's it for me for today - I look forward to seeing all your wonderful creations.

Toodles.
