Giving Thanks

Happy Tuesday Everyone

Hope your week is going well.

It's challenge time over at Papertake Weekly and this week our theme is "Giving Thanks".  Thanksgiving is on 28 November so we want to see any project or a card or anything to say "Thank You" and our generous sponsor is The Ribbon Girl.

Now I'm going to share a card with you that I made about four years ago!  This was when I was starting to play with colouring and generally having a good old play.  Like I said, it's old but sometimes I think it's nice to show anything that was made sometime ago as you can see how much you've changed your style etc over the years so brace yourself ......

I did say it was old didn't I!

I have no recipe fr the card although you will have probably guessed that its a Magnolia image and the papers were Kay & Co if I remember rightly; it also looks like I've used a Cuttlebug embossing folder too.  Maybe the memory isn't that bad after all!

I hope you will come and join in the fun with us over at Papertake Weekly and don't forget to check out what gorgeous projects the lovely ladies have made for your inspiration.

Have a great week.

Ta ta for now.

TOTALLY GORJUSS - ANYTHING GOES + LACE

Well Hello to Everyone

How are you all?  I hope you are all keeping well.  I know I haven't been around for a little while but I have been working away and then managed to get struck down with the flu which knocked me for six I can tell ya!  I will make sure I catch up with you all this weekend - can't wait to see what you've all been up too!

A great big 'HELLO' to my new followers - I'm thrilled you have chosen to follow me in my little world - thank you.

So, it's Saturday and it's time for a challenge over at Totally Gorjuss and this week the challenge is "Anything Goes + Lace" - easy peasy huh!

Our generous sponsor for this week is J & C Creations, so if you want to be in with a chance to win £10 to spend on their on-line shop then make sure you get your entries in over at Totally Gorjuss and check out what the lovely DT ladies have made to whet your appetite.

Here is the card I have made:

There are so many talented people out there in blog-land and I so admire their creations - they give me such inspiration.  I love the cards where all the embellishments go outside the card edges and this was my attempt at it!  I so must try harder - although I did manage to get a few little bits outside the edges ;o)

The recipe for the card is:

Digi Stamp:  Saturated Canary - Marry Me by Krista Smith
Papers:  Kaisercraft - Sweet Nothings
Berries:  Magnolia - Whitely
Corner Die:  Memory Box - Corner Bow
Metal Corners and Pearls:  The Hobby House
Flower Ribbon, Netting and Small White Flowers:  From My Stash

The image has been coloured with Copics:

Skin:  E11 E00 E000 / R20 R30 (cheeks)
Hair:  E37 E35 E34 E31
Dress:  C2 C1 C00 Blender Pen
Flowers:  YR01 YR00 YR000
Shading:  W5 W3 W1 W0

The image has been outlined with Iced Spruce Distress Ink
The papers have been edged with Vintage Photo Distress Ink

Here is my arty picture of the inside:

And there you have it.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and for all your lovely comments.

Have a great weekend.

Me & My Cat

Good Day to You All

Can you believe that it's August already!

Today I would like to share with you a card that I have made with a lovely Just Magnolia stamp called "Tilda with Cat".

Now just how cute is that cat?  As you may have gathered, my little feline friend is our Winston (piccy in my side-bar), who doesn't lavish me with love, but comes and gives me the odd face rub every now and again, particular when he wants something to eat.

I have poked holes all around the edges of the layers and then joined them up with a grey fine-liner pen to create a faux stitched effect - I am completely useless with a sewing machine and I just can't build up the courage to have a bash as I fear my project would be ruined!

The recipe for the card is as follows:

Stamp:  Just Magnolia "Tilda with Cat"
Papers:  Memory Box "Jubilee"
Coloured Card:  Core-dinations from Crafters Companion
Buttons:  Cheery Lynn Designs Buttons #1 from Dies to Die For
Papers Outlined With Distress Inks:  Tumbled Glass and Old Paper
Flowers:  Roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the others are from my stash

Image has been coloured with Copics:

Skin:  E21 E00 E000 E0000 R20 R30
Hair:  E29 E27 E25 E23
Jumper & Socks:  B00 B000 B0000
Skirt & Shoes:  YG11
Cute Cat:  N5 N3 N2 N1 N0 R20 R30
Shading:  W5 W3 W1
Outline:  B000 B0000

I've also discovered myself a new technique to get the ribbon to blend in with the card by edging it with distress ink:

I think you will be seeing that a lot more on my cards.  This piccy also gives you a close-up of how the stitching looks and that cute little paw charm.

Here is a final picture of the inside of the card:

As always there is no verse in there yet - I always do that at a later date so I can personalise it to the person who I am sending this card too.

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Just Magnolia & hAnglar & sTanglar Challenge - Week 117 - Buttons, Bows & Blooms
Stamptacular Sunday - Challenge #122 - Friends are Heaven Sent
Sunday Sketch & Stamp - Challenge #66 - Sam's Sketch

So enough ramblings from me today - I'm going off on holiday for a few days now so I will look forward to catching up with you all when I get back at the weekend.

Enjoy your week and thank you all for your lovely comments.

See ya.
