Guest DT - Totally Gorjuss - Challenge 91 - Christmas in July

Hi Everyone

I hope you are all okay.

I have some terrific news that I'm popping to share with you .....

I have been asked to be a Guest DT on the Totally Gorjuss Challenge Blog!  I am so thrilled I just can't believe it.

So straight on to this weeks challenge which is "Christmas in July" - it is as simple as it sounds - make a Christmas card and get your entry onto the Totally Gorjuss Challenge Blog to be in with a chance to win some goodies from Meljen Designs where the lucky winner will get to pick 4 designs from their fabulous range.  Make sure you check out the super cards the design team have created this week.

I have used the super sweet Little Heart Gingerbread man - how cute is he?  So here is the finished article:

The wonderful papers and embellishments are from Nit Wit and these are from the Gingerbread Fella set.  I have coloured the image with Copics:

Gingerbread Man:  E19 E17 E15 R20 R30
Little Heart:  Crimson Lake Prismacolor Pencil

All the black stitching has been done by hand with a black fine liner pen as I am absolutely terrified of trying to stitch papers together with a sewing machine without making a total hash of it!

I have used Liquid Applique sprinkled with Glamour Dust for the icing which gives so much dimension to your card - just be careful not to touch it until it cools down after heating it or it may go a little flat.

So that's me done for the day I hope you all have a fantastic weekend.

Lili of the Valley Challenge 107

Hey Everyone

I hope you are all well and enjoying the sunshine - long may it continue.

Today I have inked up one of the new Christmas stamp releases from Lili of the Valley called "Pretty Poinsettia" - and oh my how pretty is she?

I have Glamour Dusted, Stickled, Snow Dusted and Diamond Dusted the card to within an inch of its life!  It's just a shame it really never shows up on the pictures as good as it looks in real life - or it could be me who is still trying to get to grips with how to take a good picture so if anyone has any tips - please help me!

I am entering this card in Lili of the Valley's Thursday Challenge where there is a fabulous sketch to follow from Domi so pop on over and join in.

I've coloured the image with Copics:

Skin:  E21 E00 E000 R20
Poinsettias, Coat & Hat:  R29 R27 R24
Handbag & Boots:  E29 E27 E25
Robins:  E37 E35 E34 R21 R20 R00
Holly & Leaves:  G28 G24 G07
Bag & Scarf:  E42 E40

The background papers are from Memory Box "Mistletoe" collection which I purchased from Quixotic Paperie and you can find them here.  All the flowers, ribbon, spacer, pearls, Diamond Dust and Stickles are from The Hobby House.  The sentiment stamp is also from Lili of the Valley.

Here's a quick close-up picture of the flowers:

I would like to say a big "THANK YOU" to Bev Rochester who showed me how to split and cover poinsettia's with Diamond Dust - so Bev "THANK YOU" you have been a real inspiration to me.

I am also going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Crafty Creations Challenges 129 - where the theme is Christmas in July.
Craft Your Passion Challenge - again, the theme this week is Christmas in July.
Creative Inspirations - and the theme is Christmas in July.
That's it from me today.

See ya later.

60's Chick

Hey Everyone

I hope you are all feeling well today.  I am off work now for three weeks - whoop whoop - bring on the Summer!

I have made a card today for my Sister-in-Law's Birthday, and seeing as she was born in the 60's what better stamp to use then Tickled Pink's Lil Fashionette 60's Ivy.

Just how fantastic is she and so, so easy to colour.

The gorgeous papers are digi from Basic Grey's Digital Collection called Pheobe.  I know I keep repeating myself - but I just love digi papers you can make as many mistakes as you like (and I should know as I make a lot!), and not worry that you only have one or two sheets left - perfect!

I have coloured Ivy with Copics:

Skin:  E21 E00 E000 R20 R30
Hair:  E27 E19 E17
Dress & Head Band:  YG25 YG03 G11
Eyes:  E25

I've gone around the edges of the paper with Tim Holtz Distress Inks - Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain and then got the little distressing tool thingy out and scraped the edges to within an inch of their life!

Now for the flowers:

As you can probably see from the main card - I got a little carried away with the flowers (although a girl can never have enough flowers - can she?).  I used the medium and small Woodware Flower Punches with 6 petals on and the EK Success Retro Flower Punch small and medium which has 5 flowers on.

All I did was punch four medium flowers and two small flowers out, gave them a very gentle misting with water (don't use too much or your paper will fall apart), before layering them on a pearl brad and squishing the petals together working from the top layer (underneath the brad) right down to the bottom layer.  Once the paper flowers have dried a little then gently unfold the petals and "tah - dah" a scrunched-up flower.

I also decided to add a little charm to the card as I haven't used one in ages and I really like that little extra it brings to the finished article.

Oops - I nearly forgot to show you the inside of the card:

I know there is no sentiment in there but I just wanted to keep the verse private as it is probably going to be a little bit cheeky!

I am going to enter this card in the following challenges:

Pink {Ink} Sketch Challenge where this week there is a wonderful sketch from the fabulous Kellie to follow.

Totally Gorjuss - the theme this week is Punch or Die - well I've certainly punched lots and lots of flowers, including my scalloped border at the bottom and used a circle nestie for the sentiment.

Sweet Stampin' Challenge where the theme is "Fashion".

Crafts and Me and all you have to do to enter is "Add a Flower" - or in my case loads and loads of flowers!

Thank you so much for looking and please leave me a comment - I always like to hear what you think about my work.

Toodle-Pip.

Just For You

Well I don't know what to say - two posts in two days - I think I need to go and lay down in a darkened room!

Now I'm new to blogland and I am still finding my way around but I couldn't believe my luck when I stumbled across across the Basic Grey Challenge Blog and found a wonderful sketch by Heather so I just had to have a go.

Now pink and yellow is not a normal combination for me but the Two Scoops paper from Basic Grey is just beautiful so it just had to be used.

Did you know that Basic Grey has its very own digital collections which you can find here.  How fantastic is that; I don't ever have to worry about running out of paper as I can just print off another copy :o)

So now for the complete card:

Yet again I've used another Lili of the Valley stamp - and this one is called "Emma Pot Plant".  I have coloured the image with Copics as follows:

Skin:  E21 E00 E000 R20 R30
Dress & Hat:  R85 R83 R81
Hair & the Dog:  E29 E27 E25 E23
All the Yellow Stuff:  YR23 YR21 YR20
Leaves:  YG67 YG63
Plant Pot:  E15 E13 E11
Shading & Outlining:  W5 W3 W1

I've also given all the edges of the card, paper and image a good dousing in Spun Sugar Distress Ink and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The ribbon is from my stash.

I am also going to enter this card in the Sparkles Forum Challenge where the theme this week is Elegant and Lace.  I think little Emma looks ever so elegant in her dress up clothes.

Another challenge I am going to enter is across at Always Something Creative where the theme is yellow and another colour.

Crafts and Me also have a fantastic challenge running which is "Add a Flower".
That's all from me today.  Thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to leave me a comment.

Bye for now.

A New Beginning .....

Hey Everyone

This is it - my very first post - ultra scary!

I made this card for a very good friend of mine who has been trying for a baby for such a long time and has now given birth to a beautiful baby girl - well done Dawn, Matylda is just gorgeous just like her Mummy.

I have used one of Mo Manning's absolutely awesome stamps (just lover her images and they are so easy to colour) and coloured it with Copics.  The papers are by First Edition "Love Letters" - how delish this pad is - and all the pearls, charm and rhinestone spacers are from the Hobby House.

The flowers have been made using the large, medium and small retro punches (Hobby House) and the top edges of the flowers have been cut in a random way to add a slightly different shape.

The Copic colours I have used are as follows:

Skin:  E000 / E00 / E21 / R20
Hair:  C5 / C7 / C9
Top:  R81 / R83 / R85
Skirt:  R39 / R59 / R89

I'm going to enter my very first challenges with the first one at Stampin' for the Weekend where the title is "My Favourite Things" - there are lots and lots of my favourite things on this card - the paper, rhinestone spacers, flowers, one of Mo Manning's fab stamps, Copics and adhesive pearls - the list goes on.  Wish me luck!

The second challenge I am entering is the Totally Papercrafts challenge where you get to play bingo.  You can choose any line and I have gone for the diagonal and choosen "Punch / Die Cuts - Flowers - Gems - what a great idea for a challenge.

The third challenge is the Stamp Something challenge and this week is it to break out the digi stamps which is just perfect as Mo Manning has some of my very favourite digital images.

Challenge number four (phew) - is from the super Fairy Fun Fridays where this weeks challenge is pearls and swirls.  Whilst there is only one swirl on my card there are plenty and plenty of pearls.

Lastly, but by no means least - challenge number five; this is from the Delicious Doodles challenge where this week they are looking for flourishes and bling.  Again, only a small flourish in the corner, but the bling in the rhinestone spacers add such a sparkle to your card.  The First Edition background paper is absolutely covered in glitter its just my poor photography skills that stop it from showing up.

Thanks for taking the time to have a look and I would love to know what you think about my card.

Have a fab weekend.

Ta-Ra for now.
