Totally Gorjuss - Challenge 111 - For Someone Special

A big "HELLLLLOOOOO" to my new Followers and thank you for joining me - very much appreciated.

Well here we are another week flown by, and another week close to Christmas!  Not long now until the big day - I hope Father Christmas brings you everything you wish for - particularly loads and loads and loads and loads of crafting goodies!!!

The challenge this week at Totally Gorjuss is "For Someone Special" and our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp.  Pop on over to the Totally Gorjuss site and see all the awesome creations the DT girls have made to get your creative minds going.

I have made a card for not just some-one special but for "some-two" special girls (twin nieces) who have just turned 12 and they are little-budding crafters who like nothing more than to spend the day in my craft room creating.  They are so good as well - I will have to post some of the fabulous cards they have made.

Enough waffle then - here is my card:

The recipe for my card is as follows:

Digi Stamp:  Mo Manning "Psst Dani & Taylor"
Papers:  My Minds Eye "Gertie"
Charms:  The Hobby House

I have coloured the image with Copics, Flexmarkers and Promarkers
(a girl can't have too many pens now can she! - heh heh heh)

Skin:  E11 E00 E000 R20 R30
Hair:  Buttercup, Champagne, Cappuccino
Girl 1 - Top & Skirt:  E37 E35 E34 E49 E59 E57 Crimson, Ruby

Girl 2 - Top, Skirt & Boots:  N8 N6 N4, Burgundy, Crimson, Ruby, C9 C8 C6 C5 C0 C00
Folders:  YR24 YR23 YR21 BG09 BG07 BG05
Shading & Outline:  W5 W3 W1 W0 Blender Pen

Everything has been edged with Walnut Stain Distress Ink

I stained the cream seam binding with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a little water - love doing this as you can get such a good match.

I have made the flowers from punching out quite a few with the large and medium EK Success Retro Flower punch then putting a brad through them before scrunching the petals up to make them look a little bit like a flower.  Here is a close up for you - you can just see one of the pearl brads poking through on the lowest small flower:

So that's it from me for today; I have got stacks to do this weekend - a few presents left to buy and loads and loads of presents still to wrap.

I hope you all have a great weekend and thanks for taking the time to have a look.

Cheerio!

Totally Gorjuss - Challenge 110 - Let it Snow

Happy Saturday Everyone

I hope you have all had a good week.  Only a couple of weeks left to go till Christmas!  I just can't believe how quickly this year has flown by!

This week's challenge over at Totally Gorjuss is "Let it Snow" and this week's fabby sponsor is Crafter's Companion.  Check out what the DT ladies have made for you to get your creative juices flowing.

Here is the card I have made for this challenge.

I just love Lili of the Valley stamps, they are just wonderful to work with.

I'll make my apologies for the rubbish pictures now - this weather is just no good for taking pictures in natural light and I hate all the hassle of having to get my light tent out then plug all the lights in and around it and then ending up with an average image at best - wow how grumpy am I!!!

Anyway, I have purchased an all new singing and dancing light box (I hope) which has all the daylight bulbs inside it so all you have to do is plug it in, switch it on, put your card (or whatever you want to photograph) inside and bobs your uncle!  Sounds great and I can't wait!  I'll be back with more updates when I get it.

Okie dokie, so rant over about the weather and pictures (sorry!) - the recipe for my card is:

Stamp:  Lili of the Valley "Feathered Friends"
Papers:  My Minds Eye "Jolly Holly"
Poinsettias / Spacers / Brads:  The Hobby House
Circular Stamp:  "Cats Life Press" from Happy Daze

Image has been coloured with Copics:

Skin:  E11 E00 E000 R20 R30

Girl:
Coat & Hat:  R39 R29 R27 R24 N7
Boots:  E37 E35 E33 N5 N3

Boy:
Hat & Trousers:  E43 E42 E41
Coat:  E37 E35 E34
Scarf:  R29 R27 R24 N5 N4 N3
Boots:  N7 N5 N3

Branches:  G28 YG67 YG63
Robins:  R17 R14 E35 E34
Outline:  W1 W0 Blender Pen

Everything has been coated in Glamour Dust and Stardust Stickles
I have edged everything in "Festive Berry" and "Walnut Stain" Distress Inks

One last picture of the inside of my card before you all drop off and fall asleep:

That's it from me - I hope you all have a great weekend and keep all well wrapped-up and warm.

Can you believe it's December already!!!!!   Three weeks to Christmas - loads of presents still to buy - lots of cards still to make!!!! OMG!!!  Anyone would think I'm starting to panic!

Without further ado this week's challenge at Totally Gorjuss is a sketch.  For the sake of always repeating myself, I so love working with sketches and this week's wonderful sponsor is the fantastic Joanna Sheen.

I love Joanna's on line shop - she has loads and loads of goodies to choose from at really competitive prices and then she charges absolutely nothing for postage - we love you Joanna!

Oh I nearly forgot - thank you for all your amazing creations for last week's challenge - there was sparkle just everywhere.

So here is the sketch that we would like you to follow:

Simple eh!  Don't forget you can mirror it, turn it upside down and make some slight alterations to it; as long as we can see that you've tried to follow the sketch you're in with a chance to win.  Go and see what the wonderful DT ladies have created to inspire you - they are just fabulous.

Here is the card I made:

Hi Everyone

The weekend is upon us yet again which brings us even closer to Christmas!  Where has this year gone - it seems to have disappeared in the blink of an eye.

Enough ramblings of a mad woman - let's get down to business and straight onto this week's challenge at Totally Gorjuss.

This week the theme for the challenge is "Sparkle" - so come on people crack open your glitter and all things sparkly and get your entries posted to be in with a chance to win.  This weeks most fabulous sponsor is Wee Stamps - my oh my just check out their stamps - they are absolutely out of this world!

Here is the card that I created:

Oh my goodness, that bunny is just so cute.

The recipe for my card is:

Digi Papers:  Basic Grey "Dasher"
Poinsettias; Spacers; Rhinestones & German Glass Glitter:  The Hobby House
Circular Stamp:  "Cats Life Press" from Happy Daze

The image has bee coloured with Copics:

Bunny:  N4 N3 N2 N1 N0 R20 R30

Green Present:  G28 YG67 YG63
Blue Present:  B01 B00 B000
Sledge:  E37 E35 E34 C3 C2 C1 C0
Shading:  W1 W0 Blender Pen

For the snow underneath the sledge I have used Liquid Applique covered in Glamour Dust.
As usual I have edged everything in Distress Ink and this one is called "Tumbled Glass"

Here is a close-up of the poinsettia covered in German Glass Glitter with a little bit of Glamour Dust thrown in for good measure:

And finally here is the inside of the card patiently awaiting its verse:

So that's it from me for now - I'm going into hospital on Monday to have a little operation on my wrist so I will be like a whirling dervish this weekend trying to get as many cards made as possible before I go out of action for a week.  Make sure you go and check out what all the fabulous DT ladies at Totally Gorjuss have created for the challenge - awesome as always.

Thank you for all your lovely comments - they are all very much appreciated.

Totally Gorjuss - Challenge 107 - Swirly Whirly

Hi Y'all

I hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend.

Thanks so much for all your fabulous entries on last week's Totally Gorjuss challenge which was Christmas Traditions; there were over 200 beautiful creations for us all to admire!

So, without further ado, onto this week's challenge:

This week at Totally Gorjuss we want to see all your creations with some swirls and whirls on it.  Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is Simon Says Stamp so make sure you hop on over to the Totally Gorjuss blog to see all the different and fabulous creations the DT ladies have made and get your entry in for a chance to win a voucher to spend in the Simon Says Stamp store.

Now I created a card that is something totally different for me - I have managed to break away from my beloved pens (even if I did break out in a sweat - lol) and decided to do a little paper piecing and wanted to keep my card really simple, so here is what I have created:

See, I told ya - real simple but quite effective I think.

I am so sorry about the horrible picture, these darker days are just rubbish for taking pictures and I hate using my light tent but can see that I'm gonna have to get it out - YUK!

So onto the short, but sweet recipe for my card:

Digi Stamp:  Pink Petticoat "Simply Delightful"
Papers:  Pink Petticoat "Doodle Swirls"
Ribbon:  From My Stash
Adhesive Pearls:  The Hobby House

As normal, I have copied the layout through to the inside of the card:

And that's it!  I love Pink Petticoat papers and images, and you get so, so much for your money - a proper bargain!

So that's it from me for the weekend - I'm off to watch the new Twilight Breaking Dawn film with my friend this morning - can't wait - it seems to have taken ages for it finally to hit the big screen.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and thank you for all your lovely comments.

Cheerio for now.

On to my card for the challenge:

My Nephew is serving in the Royal Air Force (hence the blue uniform) and is currently away on duties and is missing his new little baby girl so much I thought it fitting that I create a card which reminds us of all our men and women who leave their families to go and serve our country, not forgetting those that fought in WWI and WWII.

Totally Gorjuss - Challenge 102 - Bingo

Hello Everyone

This is a scheduled post as I am away at the NEC working - so if you are seeing it then great Mr Blogger is working.

Onto this week's challenge at Totally Gorjuss which is BINGO.  I love this kind of challenge; below is a table and all you have to do is choose 3 items but they have to be in a line either horizontally, vertically or diagonally, or if you want too add something extra you can go for all four corners - simple eh!

Incorporate these 3 items onto your card then get yourself entered onto the challenge blog to be in with a chance to win a voucher from our fab sponsor who this week is Simon Says Stamp.  Make sure you check out what all the wonderful DT girlies have created - just fantastic as always.

Lace
Ribbons
Bows
Stars
Buttons
Pearls
Flowers
Swirls
Bling

I went for the bottom row and chose "Flowers, Swirls & Bling" and here is what I created:

Aw, they are just soo in love and check out Jack's snazzy red belt - you go guy!

The recipe for the card is as follows:

Stamp:  Mo Manning "Jack & Ginger"
Digital Papers:  Scrapbook Graphics "Obsessions"
Swirl:  Magnolia Doohickey "Leaf & Swirl" Die from Dies to Die For
Gems, Rhinestones & Spacer:  The Hobby House

The image has been coloured with Copics:

Skin:  E11 E00 E000
Hair:  C2 C1 C0
Everything Else:  C9 C8 C7 C6 C5 C4 C3 C2 C1 Reds:  R29 R27 R24
Grass:  YG67 YG63

I have edged everything in Black Soot Distress Ink.

For the flower:

I have created this with large and medium Retro Flower Punches which you can get from The Hobby House.  Punch four large and three medium flowers, then cut randomly across the top of the petals and put a rhinestone brad through the centre to hold them altogether. Feather them out with your fingers or tweezers until you are happy with it and dah dah - your own home made flower.  Easy peasy.

Right, I rambled on far too much and I hope I haven't bored you all silly!

Have a great weekend.

Ciao!

Toodles

Can you believe it's December already!!!!!   Three weeks to Christmas - loads of presents still to buy - lots of cards still to make!!!! OMG!!!  Anyone would think I'm starting to panic!

Without further ado this week's challenge at Totally Gorjuss is a sketch.  For the sake of always repeating myself, I so love working with sketches and this week's wonderful sponsor is the fantastic Joanna Sheen.

Oh I nearly forgot - thank you for all your amazing creations for last week's challenge - there was sparkle just everywhere.

So here is the sketch that we would like you to follow:

Blue Present:  B01 B00 B000

Our sponsor this week is Fantastic Ribbons and oh my what a fantastic store it is too, all those lovely ribbons!

The recipe for my card is:

Stamp:  "Like Father Like Son" from Just Inklined
Digi Papers:  "Aviator" from Scrap Matters
Stamp:  Whimsy "Everyday Mini Postage Stamp Sentiments"

Image coloured with Copics:

Skin:  E11 E00 E000

I have edged everything in Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink

As normal I have copied the layout from the front of the card onto the inside:

So that's it from me, I hope to be back later in the day with some Halloween cards that I have made, but until then I hope you have a fabulous weekend, whatever you may be doing and hope that you can come and join in the fun with us at Totally Gorjuss.

Take care and Ciao for now.

Totally Gorjuss - Challenge 103 - Pastel Christmas

Hi Everyone

I hope you have all had a fabulous week.  I'm back from the NEC and I am absolutely cream crackered!  I think this weekend is going to be spent snoozing and just chillin' out.

This week's challenge over at Totally Gorjuss is Pastel Christmas and our sponsor this week is Lili of the Valley.  So get your creative juices flowing and make a Christmas card in nice pastel colours.  If you need any inspiration nip over to the Totally Gorjuss site and see what the talented DT ladies have created.

For this challenge I decided to go with pastel pink and created this card for you:

I'm glad we had a Christmas challenge this week as I am already sooo behind with making my Christmas cards, but at least this is another one that I can add to my very small collection :os

The recipe for the card is:

Stamp:  Lili of the Valley "Dropping the Shopping"
Papers:  Pink Petticoat "Snowflake" and "Ribbon" collections
Sentiment Stamp:  Whimsy Stamps "Winter Letter Seals" from The Hobby House
Rhinestones:  The Hobby House
Flowers:  My Stash

The image has been coloured with Copics:

Skin:  E11 E00 E000 R20 R30
Dog & Hair:  E37 E35 E34
Coat:  RV10 RV00
Scarf:  E41 E40 RV10
Boots:  C7 C5 C3
Shading:  C1 C0

I have used Spun Sugar Distress Ink around the edges of the card and the flowers have had a good dosing of Stardust Stickles.  For the main image I have highlighted all her fluffy bits with Glamour Dust.

So that's it from me for this weekend.  I'm off for a lie down and some more sleep.

Hope you have a great weekend whatever you may be doing.

See ya all later.

Ciao!
